Inaugurated in 1997 at the southernmost tip of Tierra del Fuego, close to’Ushuaia, l’Unidad Postal del Fin del Mundo has become one of the region's most unusual symbols. Located around 11 kilometres from the town, this post office has been specially created for tourist purposes, offering visitors the unique opportunity to send postcards and letters from the «end of the world».
Set in the peaceful bay of Bahía Ensenada, It is considered to be one of the southernmost post offices on the planet where you can send or receive mail. Only a few places are even further south, including the Antarctic Exploration Museum and the post office on Goudier Island, on the Antarctic continent. An original and emblematic stopover to mark its passage to the end of America.
